My Must Have Foundations
So I have always been one to go for drugstore makeup with the occasional splurge I just can never justify the prices for a whole makeup drawer for luxury pieces. I have had my fair share of duds in drugstores but have found the b best foundations that I don’t think you can beat!
I love a full coverage foundation I love how it covers my freckles and L’Oréal smash it with their foundations their true match and infallible foundations are tied at the top for me. I have only recently purchased the true match but for how full coverage it was I couldn’t believe how lightweight it felt and how airbrushed my makeup looked. They are both around £10 and boots always have offers, so I always wait for 3for2 on my favourite drugstore products. Both of these have a great liquid consistency; I often mixed them together for big events for the perfect glam look. They are both so bendable and when I say they last all day they really do! I put them on before at 9 am and take them off 12 hours later and only on my nose where my glasses sat and where I have a bad habit of touching my skin did the foundation start to come off towards the end but this was later than 7 pm! They are both stunning products and work with cream and powder products and for me, they don’t oxidise through the day or ever look cakey.
L’Oréal is probably my favourite drugstore brand and their liquid infallible concealers are also my number 1. This product is thick but I like my concealer like that. It brightens under my eyes and can be worn without foundation for the everyday effortless look. I have also seen people use warmer tones for light contours or cream eyeshadows and they all say it is great so I will have to try this out at some point.
I have also tried L’Oreal’s matt infallible foundation which was great just wasn’t as luxurious as a feeling as the true match and infallible fresh wear foundation. The foundation’s consistency was nearly mouse so very lightweight but as it was mattifying it was just a bit drying for me if I remember correctly. I also found myself finishing this product much quicker as the product was quite thick. It would be perfect for anyone who loves the matt finish and has a good skincare routine to help prevent drying out I am just not that advanced with skincare (haven’t quite got the hang of it yet).
There are 40 shades of the true match foundation but I hate walking into the shop (typically boots) and seeing 5-10 of the shades, I never really know if my shade is truly right I just think every shade should have to be included in the shops to be as inclusive as possible. The L’Oréal infallible fresh wear foundation could do with more shades looking at the range it isn’t as inclusive as other foundations which is quite disappointing.
